Adult classes are designed for students ages 18 & Up.


The BISI dance Program likes to share our passion for our adult dance students and provide a fun, supportive and positive environment for all skill levels. Our artistic staff provides high quality training in a creative, fun & energetic setting!

BISI DANCE FITNESS (Adults: 18 & UP) *1hr

BISI is offering A DANCE FIT class for all adult students of all ages and levels. BISI DANCE FITNESS is a fun, effective work-out that offers energetic dance routines that combines the styles of Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin and athletic movements all into one 60-minute experience! Get ready to BURN & SHAKE IT!

  ATTIRE:    Comfortable workout or dance wear is suggested for both Women & Men…….Sneakers or jazz shoes are both acceptable. Comfortable clothing and black ballet shoes.

POINTE (Youth: Teen & Adult) *30min

Pointe is designed for students with previous ballet training. Pointe work is appropriate when a student is at least 11 years old, their growth plates have finished growing in their feet, and they take a minimum of two technique classes a week. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations.

These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. The graduation to this level takes years of preparation and involves the strength and alignment of the body, not just the feet. Since this is highly individualized, the student is evaluated personally by the artistic director before progressing to this level.


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Black leotard, pink tights & pointe shoes. Hair must be pulled back into a bun and out of the
face.

TEEN-ADULT BALLET & POINTE (Intermediate Teen-Adult Level) *1hr ½

A mixed discipline of Ballet & Pointe. Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and controlneeded to execute ballet moves. Pointe is designed for students with previous ballet training and includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. The graduation to this level takes years of preparation and involves the strength and alignment of the body, not just the feet. BELLY DANCE (Adults Only) *1hr

Show off your curves ladies as this class introduces the fundamental movements of the art belly dancing. Students will learn how to execute upper and lower body movements as well as hip drops, shimmies, undulations, half turns and graceful arm and shoulder moves. Tribal & Cabaret style belly dance choreography will also be taught as well as working with the isis wings, veils & zills. A great technique class that is fun for both fitness and performance!


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Fitted, comfortable attire. Barefoot, no shoes or socks. Coin hip scarves will be available for students to use in class as well as for purchase. .

POLYNESIAN (Adults Only) *1hr

An introduction to the culture and dances of Hawaii, Tahiti and New Zealand. Students will learn how to tie and wear a Polynesian material skirt, the translation of Hawaiian hula hand movements and how they describe a story or image, the basic foot movements of the hula dance, the fun, fast hip movements of Tahitian Otea dancing.


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Fitted, comfortable attire. Barefoot, no shoes or socks. Hawaiian hip leis will be available for students to use in class.

CONTEMPORARY JAZZ / FUNK (Adults Only) *1hr

Contemporary Jazz Funk is a contempor ary dance class which also includes elements from street styles, lyrical, jazz etc. Creative mov ement doesn't only focus on the technique but also on expressing emotions and different mindsets through dance. The class consists of a warm up , dance combination and a few improvisation exercises to help the dancers get better understanding of their unique way of movement and musicality.


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Fitted dance attire with black dance pants, shorts or capris; black or tan jazz shoes, dance paws or socks.
    MEN: Fitted white tank or t-shirt with black fitted dance pants or shorts with black or tan jazz shoes or
socks.

SAMBA JAZZ WORKSHOP (Adults only)   SUMMER ONLY

NEW! A FAST PACED, “SAMBA JAZZ” CLASS WITH AN UPBEAT TWIST OF LATIN HIPS & JAZZ STYLE TECHNIQUE ALL IN ONE! This class will cover the fundamentals of SAMBA as it is danced in the Bahia & Rio regions of Brazil. The classic JAZZ styles will also help students develop their technique, personal style, and skills needed to build a solid foundation of both Rio-style SAMBA & Classical JAZZ. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the basic SAMBA step, developing proper JAZZ technique and learning a range of movements and footwork associated with each regional style. This type of SAMBA should not be confused with “Ballroom Samba”, so no partner is necessary.
This class is for ADULTS ONLY (ages 18 & up) and has had previous dance experience in Jazz & Latin dancing and are able to dance at a medium-fast tempo.



  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Comfortable workout or dance wear is suggested. No special footwear is required for this class, students can dance in bare feet.

BISI BURLESQUE (Adults Only) *1hr   SUMMER ONLY

Be ready to SHAKE your fancy & explore the sensual art of TEASE! These classes empower the
absolute beginner with confidence by building physical strength, while unleashing her inner-vixen. BISI Burlesque incorporates a HO T jazzy flair with high kicks, bumps-n-grinds, and shakes-n-shimmy’ s with spins and poses....and maybe a little tassel-twirling! This is a fun specialty class offered as a workshop for ADUL TS only and is only offered for a few sessions throughout the year . No experience is necessary …..Just bring it and get SASSY with us!


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Comfortable fitted attire that you can move freely in. Students are barefoot & are welcome to bring a pair of heels with an ankle strap for support.

MODERN (Teen & Adult Level) *1hr   SUMMER ONLY

The BISI Modern class combines the importance of body movement, alignment as well as creative and artistic expression. Modern combines stretching and strengthening to lengthen a dancer’s muscles and body. Students will benefit from the technique learned, as well as being challenged with progressions & centre work. Self-expression is intertwined with modern’s defined movement. Core strength is developed to facilitate execution of skills and follows the style of Horton, Dunham and Limon.


  ATTIRE:  LADIES:  Solid color leotard or tight fitting top: black jazz pants, capris or jazz shorts; bare feet or dance paws. .
    MEN: Fitted white tank or t-shirt with black fitted dance pants or shorts; bare feet

LEAPS & TURNS (Youth & Adult Levels) *1hr   SUMMER ONLY

Our Leaps & Turns class helps dancers work on these often challenging areas of dance. Our classes are designed to help each dancer identify and work on specific techniques and skills needed to improve their understanding and performance of these specific moves.

BELLY DANCE BOOT CAMP *For adults ages 18 and Up   SUMMER ONLY

THIS END OF SUMMER BELLY DANCE BOOT CAMP with Miss Lynn is a 2 hour intense, core work out with a crazy mix of fitness drills & Belly dance technique all in one! This heavy cardio class will make you sweat to the beat and shake those hips while jamming ou t to Prince, Shakira, and Hakim! This is not just a belly dance technique class - this is a boot camp style course that gets your cardio up and running, increase energy and shake off stress. This course will help you get into better shape and work towards increasing your endurance so that you can become a stronger dancer. Lynn's energetic and graceful teaching style will inspire your idea of fitness with Belly Dancing. It will tighten tone and firm your entire body, expand your personal fitness through isolations and undulations.

  ATTIRE:  LADIES:   Fitted work out attire with sneakers. The traditional coin hip scarfs will be provided in class as we will also be barefoot for a portion of the class.
